Affa Osman

Affa’s approach to casting showcases his deeply rooted empathy for people and with his sensibility of exploring beauty.

He was born and raised in Bern, Switzerland to a Yemenite mother and an Ethiopian father and was exposed to creativity at an early age before starting his career as a casting director. A gift that helps him to look at casting from a different perspective and challenge norms. Best known for his ability to weave agency, street and celebrity casting effortlessly together and utilise a vast network, that he nurtured and slowly and steadily built.

Today, Affa’s work expands from fashion into the art world. He consults on exhibitions, works with respected art institutions, writes for publications  – always eager to discover new territory and trying to merge all his influences and create space.

Nevertheless he keeps exploring casting direction constantly as his main priority to find new perspectives and point of views while staying true to himself.

Affa has worked with magazines such as i-D, 032c, Acne Paper, Another, T Magazine, Re-Edition, Dazed, D Repubblica, Another, Luncheon. His client list includes Loewe, Y3, GmbH, Jean Paul Gaultier, Shayne Oliver, Trussardi, Coty, Burberry, Nike, Adidas, Google and Mercedes. He has worked with Photographers such as Jordan Hemingway, Luis Alberto Rodriguez, Lengua, Gabriel Moses, Davit Giorgadze, Ilya Lipkin, Walter Pfeiffer, Kuba Ryniewicz, Nadine Ijewere, Benjamin Huseby, Anton Gottlob Pablo di Prima, Hendrik Schneider, Pascal Gambarte Jeremy Everett, Casper Kofi and Camille Vivier.+
