Simon Foxton Styling
Shortly after Graduating from St Martins School of Art in 1983 Simon started his own menswear label ‘Bazooka’ to great acclai. However, after a year of doing this foxton came to the decision that styling was what he really wanted to do.
Simon soon started working with i-D Magazine where Terry Jones put him in touch with the photographer Nick Knight. This turned out to be a successful partnership which remains strong to this day.
Apart from i‐D, Simon has also regularly shot for numerous Menswear Magazines such as Arena Homme Plus, GQ Style, V Man, Vogue Hommes International, L’Uomo Vogue and also Fantastic Man where he was Fashion Director.
Simon was also Fashion Director of the fashion website Showstudio.com during its formative years. Notable clients over the years include Nike, Adidas, Top Man, Hugo Boss and Marks & Spencer. Simon has also been a creative consultant to many high street menswear labels, particularly Levi Strauss, Caterpillar Clothing, Karrimor and Converse as well as the Italian label Mandarina Duck.
In 2009 Simon had a solo exhibition of his work at The Photographer’s Gallery in London, ( ‘When You’re a Boy') , the first exhibition they had mounted by a non‐photographer.
Other pieces of Simon’s work have been bought by the V&A and the Tate Gallery and form part of their permanent collection, most notably the ‘Strictly’ series of images with photographer Jason Evans.
For the last four year Simon has been working closely with his colleague Nick Griffiths in their Creative Partnership ‘&Son', primarily on the Italian‐based menswear label Stone Island, where they have created an influential advertising campaign as well as consulting on many other facets of the brand.
Simon is currently Visiting Professor to the menswear MA course at the Royal College of Art.
